Memory Screening/ Assessment

Memory Screening/ Assessment
  • Memory loss is one of the commonest and earliest symptoms people notice about persons with dementia. The loss can be so gradual that it is likely to be easily overlooked as normal.
  • Memory problems can be caused by a number of medical conditions, including vitamin deficiencies, thyroid issues, brain infections, brain tumors, depression as well as dementia-related illnesses including Alzheimer’s.
  • A memory screening is a significant first step towards determining the cause of memory problems and as some of the causes are treatable, it can lead to better outcomes for the person.
  •  It is a simple and safe “healthy brain check-up” that tests memory and other thinking skills and consists of a series of verbal and written activities that takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and can indicate if someone might benefit from a comprehensive medical evaluation.
  •  If you think you or a loved one has issues relating to memory, Please call 011 2667080 and register for a free memory screening conducted at LAF, once a fortnight.
